This effect is a variant of the Card at Any Number plot, but with a full routine and a very commercial and entertaining presentation, with gags, a prediction, or divination, with a puzzling final surprise revelation. e
Here is the basic routine:
1.You ask the spectator to name a celebrity (for instance)
2.You show your prediction and it is right (kind of! as it is a variant of the "baby gag" with a new twist)
3. As your audience is not impressed, you ask the spectator to shuffle a deck of cards.
4. You spell the name of the celebrity, and the last card is put on the side.
5. The spectator turns over the previous prediction: on the back there is a card.
6. ... And when the spelt card is turned over, it is the same.
7. etc.
In the manual, you will have more ideas and gags, with different methods as well.
It can be adapted for any events like Christmas, New year, Thanksgiving, Halloween, weddings, Carnival, birthdays, conventions, etc.
Any name or word can be spelt. This is more powerful and personal than a number between 1 and 52.
It needs a one-time preparation that you can keep in your wallet or jacket, and can be used as an opener or a closer, for strolling, close up, parlor or stage.
This is definitely a practical, baffling and adaptable routine you will use.
It can be the backbone for a full act. It can be combined with other effects..
For instance:
1. FINGER BURN: "Think of somebody you don't like"
"Now show one of your fingers and focus all your hate on that finger"
... (This trick is called "Finger burn")
2. CANOE: "Now, tell us the name of the person you don't like". etc.
3. Other effect(s) based on the forced card, or on the person they freely named previously.
